Georgia Skinner and Lydia Zimmer perform at the Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal Aug 14-16.

Georgia Skinner performs in Mr. Pinhead and Lydia Zimmer presents Sonderling, during the Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal's (FODAR) fifth season at King's Theatre.

Artist Bio's

From Halifax NS, Georgia Skinner trained in ballet, contemporary, modern, and hip-hop at Coastal Dance from age three through high school. She graduated from The School of Toronto Dance Theatre’s Professional Training Program in 2014 where she worked with many esteemed artists. Georgia has travelled nationally and internationally for dance training during her years in school, and also attended ImPulsTanz International Dance Festival 2015 in Vienna, Austria for professional development training. She recently worked with Coastal Dance, East Coast Dance Academy, The Woods Hip Hop Company, Mocean Dance, Nostos Collectives Dance Association, as well as in various independent productions.

Lydia Zimmer grew up training at Halifax Dance. She received her BFA from The Boston Conservatory in 2011 and also trained with Canada’s National Ballet School, Springboard Danse Montreal, Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Traditions and The Movement Invention Project. Since returning to Halifax Lydia has presented Bonne Nuit in April 2016, Embankment, a trio performed by Votive Dance in 2017 and Sonderlings, performed by Nostos Collectives Dance in June 2018. Additionally Lydia has completed residencies through the Nes Artist Residency in Fall 2016 in Skagastrond, Iceland, and, in July 2017 at the Derida Dance Centre in Sola, Bulgaria. Lydia currently dances for Mocean Dance, creates and performs for Nostos Dance Collectives and Votive Dance.

FODAR

For the last five years, Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal (FODAR), has grown into a nationally recognized multi-dimensional 5 days festival. Under the Artistic Direction of award-winning Canadian choreographer Randy Glynn, FODAR has presented a diverse selection of excellence in contemporary dance from across the country as well as remounted productions of classic works of Canadian modern dance.
