Rhonda Baker performs in 'Burnwater: Alchemy' at the Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne from November 18-20, 2016

Burwater:Alchemy 2 min FINAL from Erin Donovan on Vimeo.

Burnwater: Alchemy, an innovative installation/performance will premiere
November 18-20 at the
Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne

From Mocean Dance' press release:
'Created by Erin Donovan of Hear Here Productions (Mahone Bay) and Susanne Chui of Mocean Dance (Halifax), Burnwater: Alchemy combines percussion, dance, and poetry and features the extraordinary iron sound sculptures of Nova Scotia blacksmith John Little.

True to its alchemical name, the piece encourages the audience to go through a transformation of their own. For Donovan the piece “invites the viewer to slow down, listen deeply and reflect on their connection to the natural world.” The sound score layers recorded outdoor sounds, poetry as well as music played live on Little’s sound sculptures.

Dancer Rhonda Baker (former NSTT scholarship recipient) and percussionist Doug Cameron animate the indoor landscape by leading the audience through a series of performances and interactive installations. “It’s a very sensory experience” says Chui “The audience is experiencing everything --the set, the performers and the soundscape -- in a fully immersive way; It’s like going on a hike indoors.”

Burnwater: Alchemy runs November 18-20 at the Osprey Arts Centre. There are four performances:

Nov. 18 at 7pm,
Nov. 19 at 2pm and 7pm
Nov. 20 at 2pm.
The show is limited to 30 attendees; advance purchase is recommended.

Tickets are $15 Regular, $7 Students; Tickets and information are available through Ticketpro.ca: https://secure.ticketpro.ca/?server=ww3&lang=en#def_1136233752
