Ron Murdock,
singer and vocal pedagogue
NSTT scholarship recipient from 1962-1970
Receiving scholarships from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust was crucial to my studies both in Montreal with Bernard Diamant and in Switzerland with Professor Frederick Husler and Yvonne Rodd-Marling.

Not only does the NSTT provide financial assistance but they are unique in that they follow the artists who they support and create work and publicity opportunities. It was my meeting with fellow award winner Annon Lee Silver in a series of Talent Trust summer concerts in 1964 which paved the way for me to study with Annon Lee’s teachers in Switzerland. It was this period of study which launched my career in Europe and North America.

I will forever be indebted to the Nova Scotia Talent Trust for their invaluable support during my formative years. Without their support I would never have made a professional career as a singer.

Ron Murdock recently released his new book Born to Sing which is now being used as a textbook in the singing department of Boston Conservatory of Music.
